HOP CONTROL Overview


The brand new HOP CONTROL Software integrates over 10 years of research and collaboration with the Italian breweries and hop suppliers.


HOP CONTROL's revolutionary methodology allows users to optimize their brewing process by starting with a base hopping and immediately identifying the direction for improvement, reducing trial batches and costs.


Moreover HOP CONTROL can be used to try to obtain the same aromatic profile but using less expensive or more readily available hops. 


The Software key features include a sophisticated algorithm, a solid calibration from experiments with Italian breweries and an extensive database of over 280 hop varieties, continuously updated.


The calculation procedure requires input data like BJCP style, fermentation volume, boiling density, and hop additions.

For the hop additions the user can insert the variety (among the 280 currently in the database) as well as the quantity, the boil time and the hop type (pellet, dry cones, wet cones).

Dry Hopping and addition in whirlpool can be managed as well.

There is also the possibility to force the Alpha Acid content of each hop addition in order to take into account hop batch variability.

The innovative radar diagram provides an estimate of the aromatic profile, combining qualities like citrus, tropical fruit, floral, and more.

Future developments include expanding the database, introducing AI optimization for hop options, training AI algorithms with results and studying fermentation effects.
